Meet Team Hygiene

Zina Katcho
Zina Katcho is a Dental Hygienist at Altrock and Fabb Dental, where she joined the team in February. With a deep-rooted passion for oral health and patient care, Zina brings both experience and heartfelt dedication to every appointment. She is known for her enthusiasm, encouragement, and commitment to helping patients achieve healthier smiles through education and personalized care.
Born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq, Zina began her dental career early, graduating as a dental technician at just 19 years old. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 22 and, despite having to restart her education due to non-transferable credits, pursued her goal of becoming a dental hygienist beginning at age 31. Nearly two decades later, her journey stands as a testament to her resilience, passion, and love for the profession. Her strong dental foundation from Iraq sparked her curiosity about dental hygiene—a role that did not exist there—and led her to discover a career she immediately fell in love with and excelled in.
Zina knew she was in the right profession when she treated her first patient during hygiene school and was met with genuine gratitude. That moment, followed by many similar experiences, confirmed her calling. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is seeing patients apply her guidance, return with improved oral health, and thank her for making a difference—an experience that continually inspires her to do even more for those she serves.
Outside of work, Zina is a self-described social butterfly who loves staying active through outdoor walks and hikes. She enjoys eating clean and healthy, showcasing her cooking skills, and attending lively events filled with dancing, laughter, and singing. Spending time with her daughters—who keep her young and energized—is especially meaningful to her, as they share many of these joyful activities together. Above all, Zina is driven by kindness and finds fulfillment in helping others in any way she can, whether through her work or simple, thoughtful gestures.
